The air filter has a profound effect on the performance of the vehicle. By cleaning the air and protecting the engine from contamination, it also reduces the power of the machine. In this case, it is very convenient to install a zero resistance filter, which will help to effectively protect the engine from dust and will not interfere with the correct operation of the car.

Instructions

Step 1

Select the filter suitable for your machine. Devices of various designs are produced for injection and carburetor vehicles. There are also differences in filter materials. There are cotton, mesh and foam filters. Foam filters provide the best protection against contamination, but create additional air resistance, which makes them similar to regular air filters.

Step 2

Detach the old air filter case that you used on your car. Filters are usually attached with 4 screws, which can be easily unscrewed with a Phillips screwdriver. After removing the fasteners, remove the case. Loosen the clamp of the air intake manifold from the base of the air filter. Remove the harness from the MAF.

Step 3

Remove the air flow unit from the air filter housing. Now remove the old filter and disassemble the housing to install the new one. Remove the circlip from the intake side of the air filter.

Step 4

Install a zero resistance filter into the housing. Attach the mass air flow pipe to the filter and tighten the connection with a clamp on the side of the installed device. Now insert the housing into the air intake port and tighten the clamp securely. Surround the zero resistance filter with an additional bracket to hold it tightly in place. If the filter moves while the vehicle is running, you risk damaging the brake pipes. The case itself must be fixed with a metal plate to the place where a standard air filter is attached.

Step 5

Attach a cold start hose to the filter to help prevent overheating from the engine. The other end of the hose must be held under the bumper to suck in cold air from the street. Such a hose is not required for the installation of an air resistance filter. However, its presence will improve the filter's performance.
