Manufacturers recommend cleaning and impregnating the zero resistance filter every 5-10 thousand kilometers. If you use the car in dusty conditions, the filter needs to be serviced more often.
Necessary
- - cleanser;
- - capacity commensurate with the filter;
- - impregnation oil;
Instructions
Step 1
Pull the zero resistance filter out of the housing and disconnect the inlet from the filter. Using a medium brush, clean the filter surface. Be careful not to damage the rubber parts of the part.
Step 2
Some types of filters use a spray cleaner. It must be sprayed over the entire surface of the part and left for 10 minutes until it dries completely.
Step 3
Wet cleaning is recommended for larger filters. Take a suitable container and fill it with a special cleaning solution. To clean all sections of the filter, it must be rotated in the liquid for 3-5 minutes. After rinsing, place the filter on a hard surface for 10 minutes. This time is required to completely saturate the filter with the cleaning agent.
Step 4
To clean the flat filter, simply immerse it in the cleaning agent for 5 minutes. Make sure that the solution completely covers the filter surface.
Step 5
After the filter is completely saturated with the cleaning solution, it must be rinsed with running water. But keep in mind that the water pressure should be minimal.
Step 6
After washing the filter, dry it thoroughly. However, drying must take place naturally. Do not use artificial drying methods such as a hair dryer or compressor. High pressure can damage the filter elements. The filter should dry in a strictly horizontal position on a hard surface.
Step 7
After complete drying, apply a special impregnation oil to the filter surface. This compound helps the filter retain dust and dirt. Do not use engine oil or any other oil for this purpose. Using the filter in this way will interfere with the proper cleaning system of the engine.
Step 8
Reinstall the filter. Secure it carefully. If you use the car on roads with increased dustiness, you must apply a special sealant to the filter housing.
