Every car has parts or spare parts that need to be replaced periodically. For example, such a consumable is the cabin filter, which purifies the air before entering the cabin.
Instructions
Step 1
Visit the official website of your vehicle manufacturer. On it you can find the filters recommended for installation in your car. There are also many forums of different car brands, where you can find the necessary information. Also find out which filter is installed. If it is charcoal, then such a filter should only be replaced. Purchase only the recommended filter models, as they have the resistance and density designed specifically for your machine.
Step 2
Find the place where the cabin filter is located. In some cars, it is located under the glove compartment. Take out the front passenger mat. Underneath you will find a plastic latch. Squeeze it out and open the lid. Under it, in the recess, you will see the filter housing. Unscrew the screws and take it out. Also, the filter can be located directly behind the glove compartment. Press the glove compartment latches and remove it from the grooves. Behind it you will see a cabin filter. Very often the filter is located behind the glove box, which can be easily removed from the center console. The location of the filter box depends on the make and model of the vehicle.
Step 3
Remove the filter from the housing. Examine it carefully. Shake it out thoroughly first. Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner at maximum power. Rinse it under a strong jet of water on both sides. Do not use any coarse brushes or other devices, as they can easily destroy the structure of the filter! Soak it in the cleaning compound for a few hours. Then machine wash on a gentle cycle. After completely dry, reinstall the filter.
