Instructions

Step 1

Dismantle the torpedo. Open the hood and disconnect the minus terminal from the battery, as you will have to disconnect the electrical wiring when removing the front panel. Check if the parking brake is on.

Step 2

Take out all things from the glove compartment, also remove all items on the torpedo.

Step 3

Read your vehicle manual carefully. It should include detailed instructions for removing the front panel. Also visit the forum of the owners of your car model. Surely someone has already dismantled the panel and shared their experience.

Step 4

Remove all overlays from the panel. Detach the steering wheel shroud. If your configuration has an airbag, then carefully remove it after turning off the igniter.

Unscrew the nut that secures the steering wheel to the steering rod. Remove the steering wheel from the axle. Then disconnect all steering column switches.

Disconnect all connectors and remove the torpedo from the passenger compartment through the right passenger door.

According to the pattern, make a blank from the material with which you want to sheathe your torpedo. It is best to make it from a special material that is adapted for use in a car.

Try on the blank on the torpedo. Sew it with a basting stitch. If the material fits well on the panel body, then begin to gently tighten the torpedo.

Gradually smear the torpedo body with a thin layer of glue. Stretch the material evenly. Make sure that not a single crease remains. After finishing the wrapping, set the torpedo aside to dry.

Step 12

Cover all removable parts with the same material. Don't forget the glove compartment lid.

Step 13

Install the torpedo upside-down.
