The electronic OSAGO policy is valid throughout the territory of the Russian Federation and any person who has reached the age of majority and who has a driver's license can issue it.

The electronic version of the CTP policy is a reliable alternative to the printed one. But in order not to have disagreements with the traffic police officers, it is advisable to have a printed copy of the electronic document and confirmation of the legal grounds for this type of insurance.

How to issue an electronic policy?

In order to issue an electronic OSAGO policy, the following documents will be required:

  • passports of the insured and the persons who will drive this vehicle;
  • driver's licenses of the same citizens;
  • vehicle passport, or a certificate of its registration;
  • car technical inspection card (if it is absent, then it is necessary to take a referral for maintenance).

A prerequisite for applying for a policy online is the presence of a previous insurance document. Registration via the Internet is possible only if the data has already been entered into the system. If the certificate is issued for the first time, you will not be able to do it yourself.

The procedure is carried out in a specific order.

1. First of all, you need to register on the Rosgosstrakh website using your email address.

2. Then enter all the data requested by the system. This is information for calculating the CTP insurance policy - the city of the owner, the engine power of the car, the period of use of the vehicle, the number of persons (as well as their passport data and information about their driver's licenses and driving experience) who will drive the car if the insurance is limited.

3. After filling out the questionnaire, press the button "calculate".

4. At the next stage, the system checks the data in the PCA database and obtains the required MSC coefficients. After that, the screen will indicate the cost of the electronic policy, which should not exceed certain limits. If the payment does not correspond to the result of the calculation on an independent calculator, you need to check the correctness of the data and MSC of each of the persons entered in the insurance.

5. The next step is to enter the vehicle data into the system. They can, and even desirable, be taken from the previous policy, because it is these data that are already contained in the PCA system.

6. The data of the owner of the vehicle fit in almost the last place. This is a passport, address and contact phone number. There are some subtleties here: if the house is a block house, then first the house number is entered, then, through a hyphen, the building number, and then the apartment goes through a comma. If the house number contains a letter, it is placed next to the number without a space.

7. The data of the previous OSAGO policy will also be required by the system, so you need to keep it with you. From this document, the series, number and name of the insurance company are entered into the form.

8. After checking all the data, errors may be found, which will be indicated in yellow. They must be corrected by carefully reading the information again, otherwise the system will not miss the registration.

9. And last but not least, the document is paid through a bank card. If the payment goes through, then an insurance certificate of OSAGO will be sent to the e-mail address, which it is advisable to print and attach to the driver's wallet. This is not to prove to the traffic police that they are right, but to document it.

Advantages and disadvantages of an electronic policy

The main advantages of electronic insurance:

  • The ability to take out insurance without leaving your home. This is especially good for those who live in remote communities where there are no insurance agents.
  • The absence of third parties at the time of the transaction.
  • An opportunity to choose the most convenient insurance conditions in a relaxed atmosphere.

The disadvantages include not quite a perfect data entry system and a large amount of information that you have to enter yourself. In addition, the database may already contain errors, and this will complicate the registration procedure.

The electronic OSAGO policy is very convenient. If you carefully fill out the form and follow the prompts on the site, then no difficulties will happen. However, if, after several attempts to independently issue an electronic OSAGO policy, the system still gives errors, it is better to contact the insurance office or order the policy by phone.
