Step 1
Remove the vehicle that you plan to scrapped from the register. To do this, submit an application at the place of registration of this transport. In it, indicate for what reason the vehicle cannot be brought to the registration department. After that, an inspector is appointed who will draw up a technical inspection report. This act will be the basis for deregistration of transport. Please also attach a document confirming your identity to the act.
Step 2
Deliver the car to a special scrap metal collection point using a truck in a car - your own or a rented one. You can also look for pick-up points that take out bulky scrap metal themselves.
Step 3
To prevent fraud when handing over scrap metal, provide documents that you have been the owner of this vehicle for a year or more. Also remember that businesses that buy, sell and process metal are subject to compulsory licensing. Today, there are legislative acts that regulate the purchase and sale of scrap metal.
Step 4
Try to find out if there is a recycling program for old cars in your region, according to which you can get a certificate for 50,000 rubles for the purchase of a new car. If such a program works, and its conditions suit you, take part in it. You will be able to get a new car with a substantial discount.
