Handing over the car for scrap requires a special procedure, which is carried out in the interdistrict registration and examination department (MREO) at the place of registration. In this case, it is not necessary to demonstrate the car to the inspectors. It is enough to write an application for disposal. Some difficulties arise in the absence of documents for the car, but they can be solved.

It is necessary

Registration certificate, personal passport of the owner of the car, numbers, copies of the receipt for payment of the transport fee

Instructions

Step 1

The operation to remove the car from the register for scrap is carried out at the place of registration of the car. To remove a car from the register for scrap, you need to go to the MREO and ask for an application for recycling in the window for the initial registration of documents. After presenting the relevant documents for the car, this application is filled out according to the sample directly in the MREO.

Step 2

If you do not have state signs on the car, you need to inform the inspector about the loss of one or two state signs, after which the entry "lost" should appear in the column of the application "received from the applicant" and in the item "state sign (s)".

Step 3

On the reverse side of the application, you write an explanatory text of approximately the following content: "I, Ivan Petrovich Kovalsky, lost my registration plates under circumstances unknown to me." In the same place you write that the searches did not give any results, and that you were warned of responsibility for inaccurately provided information.

Step 4

In the absence of documents for the car, MREO specialists themselves check it against the database regarding the owner, as well as for any violations of the law.

Step 5

The MREO will refuse to deregister if the car is seized or the car serves as material evidence in any criminal case. A similar situation is possible if it is found that the owner has changed the body or engine for other units without properly registering this replacement in the MREO.
