If a car enthusiast receives a car registered in another city or town at his disposal, he must remove the car from the previous registration and register it with the traffic police at his place of residence.
Instructions
Step 1
Motorists can learn more about the procedure for changing the registration of vehicles from the Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation dated January 20, 2011 "On Amendments to the Normative Legal Acts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia", which entered into force on April 3, 2011. You can get acquainted with it on the official website of the traffic police.
Step 2
According to this document, "in the event of a change in the place of residence of the owner (owner) of a vehicle associated with departure to another constituent entity of the Russian Federation, the registration of vehicles is carried out at the new place of residence of the owner (owner)." At the same time, as noted in the document, deregistration is carried out without contacting the owner at the place of previous registration. That is, a motorist, in case of moving to another city, applies only to the traffic police at the new place of residence, where the car will be removed from the register at the previous place of residence.
Step 3
In the case of buying a car registered in another city, deregistration can also be made without contacting the place of previous registration of the vehicle. The new owner must contact the traffic police at his place of residence.
Step 4
Registration of cars belonging to refugees and internally displaced persons who have Russian rights is carried out at the place of residence of the car owners.
