The UAZ-469 car was developed for the military department. Therefore, the comfort of the cabin is practically absent. And the interior insulation too. A standard heater cannot cope with its duties in any way, and the noise of its operation creates additional discomfort. Numerous cracks and low thermal insulation of the floor make the UAZ-469 one of the coldest cars in the domestic auto industry.
Instructions
Step 1
To insulate the passenger compartment, first of all replace the heater with a more powerful one or install an additional heater in the rear of the passenger compartment. The choice of a specific heater depends on the tastes, preferences and financial capabilities of each UAZ owner. But you still have to change the configuration of the stove. Heaters intended for installation on minibuses are recommended for selection. For example, KITB.3221-8110010. This brand can be installed as a main or additional stove. It will warm up well the interior of a large internal volume, but it has rather large dimensions.
Step 2
It will also be useful to install an autonomous cabin heater that runs on gas fuel on the UAZ. Regardless of the selected heater model, it must have a power of 2 to 4 kW. Such a heater is perfectly combined with the installation of gas equipment on the UAZ. The advantage of the autonomous heater is the ability to automatically maintain the temperature in the cabin. The disadvantage is the difficulty with self-connection.
Step 3
Insulate the floor. If you have limited finances, use insulated linoleum for this. If finances permit, purchase a specialized floor insulation kit at a car dealership. It consists of a foil layer and a foam layer glued to it.
Step 4
Insulate the front panel, doors, body sides and ceiling in the same way, by purchasing specialized materials. You can install them both independently and in a specialized company. Fit the doors with double seals from the UAZ Hunter car.
Step 5
Replace the tarpaulin awning standard installed on the UAZ-469 with a warmed model made of more modern polymer materials. If possible, order custom tailoring. For any version of the installed awning, purchase additional insulation for use in the winter season.
Step 6
Seal all cracks in the cabin with polyurethane foam or specialized sealant
