Step 1

It is worth recalling the list of documents required when registering a motorcycle. It exactly coincides with the list required when registering a car. So, you need an OSAGO insurance policy, a document of ownership (purchase and sale agreement), a receipt for payment of the state duty for registration with the traffic police, "Transit" registration plates, if they were issued, a technical passport and, if the motorcycle is submitted for registration with the traffic police proxy - a corresponding power of attorney.

There are two main reasons why passport holders are deprived of their passports - theft and loss. In principle, other options are also possible, for example, natural disasters - fire or flood. If the document is clearly stolen, for example, along with the wallet, you should not immediately go to the police to file a statement about the theft of the registration certificate. It is not uncommon for "noble" kidnappers to throw it out somewhere nearby on the street, throw it under the door to its owner, or return it for a reward.

In all other cases, if your passport is stolen or lost, contact the police, where you will be asked to write a corresponding statement. In return, you will receive a certificate of initiation (or refusal to initiate) a criminal case, with which you can go to the MREO, where the motorcycle is registered. At the same time, in addition to the certificate in the MREO, submit a passport and a copy of its main pages, a certificate of assignment of a TIN and its copy, an original and a copy of a motorcycle registration card, an OSAGO policy, a receipt for payment of a transport fee for the current year. If you used a motorcycle under a power of attorney, you will need to submit it along with a notarized copy, which should indicate your right to receive license plates, registration documents and the right to make changes to them. If the motorcycle was bought on credit, you also need a bank permit for operations with documents.

Step 4

After the delivery of these documents, as a rule, on the same day, a temporary registration certificate is issued, valid for three months. After the specified period, visit the MREO again and write a corresponding statement, after which you will receive a permanent duplicate of the motorcycle technical passport.
