According to experienced motorists, first of all it is necessary to have a car pump and jack. Wheel breakdown is the most common breakdown in a car, which any man should be able to fix on his own. Many people buy car compressors instead of a pump. Their cost is low, but you do not need to manually pump the tire for an hour. All compressors are powered by a cigarette lighter and many are equipped with a pressure gauge - a device for monitoring the air pressure in the tire.

A car first aid kit, a fire extinguisher and an emergency stop sign are not just the requirements of the traffic police, but really necessary devices. And so that they do not fail in an emergency, the first aid kit and fire extinguisher must be monitored. Fire extinguishers have a validity period after which they must be checked, recharged, or new ones purchased. Medicines in the medicine cabinet also have expiration dates. By the way, in the presence of chronic diseases in the owner of the car or his family members, no one forbids the first-aid kit to be completed with the necessary medicines.

Towing cable or rope. Any car can get stuck or break down far from the service or garage. Even if you find a passing driver who will agree to tow or pull out the car, it is not a fact that he will have his own cable. When choosing a cable, first of all, it is necessary to take into account the permissible load for which it is designed. It should not be less than the total mass of the existing vehicle plus a small margin. When choosing between metal and fabric rope, keep in mind that steel has higher strength, while fabric is more compact during storage.

Owners of simple, repairable vehicles carry with them a full set of wrenches, socket, spark plug and combination wrenches. Many take with them torque wrenches, a hammer, simple and cross-shaped screwdrivers of several sizes, a long-handled crank, pliers, side cutters, pliers, and a knife. Owners of expensive foreign cars do not need this, because all that can be done in an expensive car on their own is to change the wheel, the light bulb in the headlight and check the oil level.

Car owners who often travel off-road or rural roads cannot do without a shovel, hand winch and hatchet. The shovel will help to dig the car out of the ground, sand and snow. If the size of the trunk allows, they take a large shovel, and not a sapper. A hand winch will help you to independently pull out a stuck car if there is any tree or stone within a radius of 10-15 m. The hatchet is useful to chop branches and logs that can be placed under the wheels.

It's a good idea to always have a hose and a canister or a large bottle with you in case you suddenly run out of gas or need to add water to the radiator. In case the need arises, connect a second battery - a set of cables. In the event of a breakdown at night, the flashlight will be simply an irreplaceable thing.
