Necessary

  • - pliers
  • - grid
  • - paper clips
  • - putty
  • - scissors

Instructions

Step 1

When buying a grill from a tuning store, make sure that the seller does not fold it in half for the convenience of packaging, since later, when you expand it to its full length, you will find an ugly bend in the most conspicuous place. It is almost impossible to get rid of it, and the paint in this place will soon burst.

Step 2

Cut the mesh so that it overlaps the air inlet by one and a half centimeters around the perimeter. Use a pair of pliers to unbend the paper clips to create straight pieces of wire. There should be exactly as many such segments as there is enough for each hole, from those located along the perimeter of the mesh. Squeeze them with pliers in the middle and bend the ends so that you get the letter "P".

Step 3

Apply adhesive to the locations of the fasteners. If, as such, you decide to use a regular or special repair putty for the bumper, then dilute the mixture in small portions. This will allow you to work with her without haste.

Step 4

After applying a certain amount of putty, insert the U-shaped wires into it, pressing them as close to the surface as possible. Moreover, their protruding ends should be parallel to the surface of the grid and converge at different angles to the landing section of the grid. When the putty hardens, unfold them so that they stand upright.

Step 5

Place the mesh on the ends of the wires, which then bend with pliers. So that after a couple of years the places of the folds of the clips, having rusted, do not burst, duplicate the fastening with silicone. Apply it under the edges of the mesh so that it covers them, but does not protrude beyond the edges of the airflow hole and does not hit the painted surface of the bumper. If this does happen, immediately remove the contamination with a cloth moistened with white spirit.
