When choosing a car, as a rule, it is customary to focus on its purchase price, cost during the period of operation: gasoline consumption, availability and cost of spare parts, tax, as well as the country of manufacture. The last criterion is usually used to judge the quality of the car.
The proliferation of Chinese and Korean cars
In recent decades, Chinese and Korean cars have become quite popular for the mass market segment. They have an attractive design, which often differs little from the design of their European counterparts, good equipment, but at the same time their cost is much more affordable.
Manufacturers from China and Korea have won a significant market share in countries with a low level of development of the domestic auto industry. And sales in these countries continue to grow even as the automotive market as a whole falls.
Features of cars from China
The first thing that catches your eye when considering Chinese cars is the affordable price. These cars outwardly very much resemble more expensive models of well-known brands, since in China it is customary to copy most of the products. The Chinese copy not only the body design, but also the insides of the car. At the same time, due to China's geopolitical position, manufacturers save on raw materials - otherwise, where would such a low price come from?
The low quality of the metal leads to the fact that after a year of operation, serious damage due to corrosion can be found in the car. The paint wears off to the ground. And cheap plastic, which is often designed to imitate expensive wood species, saturates the interior with a rather heavy and very persistent smell.
As a result, a cheap car when buying becomes a rather expensive pleasure during operation, and the low quality of the materials used, as well as the quality of the assembly itself, casts doubt on the safety of the car both for the owner and for the environment.
Features of Korean cars
The Korean auto industry is young enough. More or less high-quality, competitive cars in Korea began to be produced about ten years ago.
Recently, the creations of the Korean car industry have been successfully competing in their market sector. This is mainly facilitated by the development of dealer networks that sell both cars and spare parts for them, and sufficiently meet the needs of Korean car owners, as well as good technical characteristics of the cars sold.
At the same time, the cheapness of Korean-made cars is due to the use of all the same low-quality materials. In addition, the weak points of the "Koreans" are weak fasteners and poor build quality of cars.
