The new government decree (which came into force on 04.06.2011) postpones the period for passing the technical inspection of passenger cars weighing no more than 3.5 tons by 12 months. This does not mean that drivers do not have to undergo a technical inspection and that they can drive without a ticket. On the contrary, the penalties have increased. But it happens that the TRP is passed, and the ticket is lost or stolen. In this case, it must be urgently restored.

Step 1
If you remember the point of passage and receipt of a technical inspection coupon, then you are in luck. Take your passport, medical certificate, driver's license, OSAGO policy and 300 rubles of money with you. Take the queue, pay the state duty, drive the car to the service station to verify the unit numbers, get a duplicate of the TRP coupon for the duration of the lost one. The technical condition of the car will not be checked a second time.
Step 2
If you do not remember the place of receipt of the coupon, or do not know it, then you will also need to undergo technical diagnostics, i.e. the whole TRP procedure, which is 690 rubles +300 rubles + spent nerves and time. In a successful scenario, you will receive a new technical standard based on the age of your car: for 3 years - new, for 2 years - not older than 7 years, for 1 year - older than 7 years or more.
Step 3
When buying a used car, the previous owner may not give a technical inspection ticket, or may not have one at all. In this case, you must undergo technical inspection in the prescribed manner within 1 month from the date of registration of your vehicle.
Step 4
If, when buying a car, the previous owner gave you a technical inspection coupon, then it must be replaced within 1 month from the date of registration of the vehicle, otherwise any traffic police inspector can remove the license plate from the car and prohibit its use.
Step 5
Also, the technical inspection coupon is reissued at the place of new use of the car, at the place of its new registration, or at the place of its temporary registration, if necessary.
