Step 1

Start the engine and warm up the vehicle thoroughly. The heat will melt the condensate from a jelly-like state to a liquid one, which will help to drain it faster. Turn off the car before performing the procedure.

Step 2

Place a cloth under the gearbox. This is necessary to prevent the appearance of stains from condensation, which quickly eats in and has a persistent unpleasant odor.

Step 3

At the bottom of the gearbox there is a drain hole or tube, from there the accumulated condensate must be drained. In some car models, the drain hole is closed with a hex bolt that must be unscrewed. Remove the plug or unscrew the hose and transfer to the engine.

Step 4

To draw out the accumulated fluid, you must arm yourself with a syringe with a volume of 10 ml. Instead of a needle, attach a thin plastic or silicone tube and pass it through the hole to the bottom of the reducer. Then pull out the condensation water.

Step 5

Repeat the pulling procedure until the fluid in the gearbox runs out. Normally, the total volume of accumulated condensate should not exceed 30 ml. An excessive amount of drained liquid indicates a low quality of gasoline or gas, as well as possible malfunctions in the fuel supply system.

Step 6

After completely removing the condensate, plug the drain hole in the reducer with a cap or a pressure hose. The closed drain must be additionally secured with a clamp.
