Step 1
To confirm or refute the suspicions that have arisen, it is required to check the tension of the alternator belt. This is done as follows. The hood rises, a caliper or an ordinary ruler is taken, press on the belt from above with your hand, with an effort of three to four kilograms, and measure its deflection, which should not exceed one centimeter.
Step 2
In the event that the received data does not correspond to the norm, the alternator belt is tightened. To troubleshoot the problem, do the following. Using a 17 mm socket wrench, loosen the generator mounting nut on the tension bar. Using a pry bar, the generator is moved away from the engine so as to provide the required belt tension, and in this position, without reducing the load, the generator fixing nut is tightened with a torque of at least 30 N / m.
