The technical regulations for work related to engine maintenance provide for checking the condition of the timing belt after running every fifteen thousand kilometers. As a result of the control examination, a decision is made on it (replace or pull-up).

Instructions
Step 1
Checking the condition of the timing belt is carried out on a cooled engine. At the preparatory stage, the decorative top plate and front cover are dismantled from the engine. Then the right front wheel is removed from the car, and the car is installed on a rigid support. Then it is necessary to remove the dust cover from the same side of the body.
Step 2
Further, turning the engine crankshaft, the degree of belt wear is examined. During a visual inspection of the specified camshaft drive, traces of mechanical and petrochemical damage to its integrity are revealed. Any cuts and cracks on its surface, or abrasions and delamination of the cord are unacceptable, and if something like this is found, it must be replaced immediately and without delay.
Step 3
Before proceeding to check the degree of belt tension, the steelyard hook is attached with electrical tape to the handle of the knob from the set of socket heads. And a metal ruler is placed on the edge of the camshaft drive pulleys.
Step 4
Further, pressing the belt with a crank in the middle between the pulleys with a force equal to 10 kgf, the value of its deflection is measured, which should not exceed 5.4 mm. Otherwise, the specified parameter is brought to the standard by moving the tension roller.
