Planned replacement of candles

If you decide to replace the candles yourself, you need to have minimal skills and knowledge. But if you are not confident in your abilities, leave such an important process to a professional. The spark plug replacement step is as follows:

1. Take a 10 mm socket and immediately unscrew the 3 screws on the engine cover. Then carefully unscrew the oil filler plug so as not to remove it completely, but only a few turns. Remove the motor housing and set it aside.

2. Now you need to take a 16 mm wrench for the candles. Carefully and carefully remove the high-voltage caps, then unscrew all the candles one by one. Do not forget to hold them precisely by the caps, otherwise the wires may break off and then the hassle and material costs will increase. Remove the candles and carefully inspect from all sides for damage.

3. If you notice black soot on the surface of the candle, then there is a possibility of a predominance of the fuel-air mixture. If the plaque is red, then there is an excess of lead additives in the candles. Replace only with original spark plugs purchased from a Kia brand representative. Never skimp on spending more money on quality engine oil, or replacing spark plugs will become a regular process.

4. To prevent the spark plugs from fusing with the cylinder head of the engine, it is necessary to use graphite grease. With this mixture, we wrap the upper part of the candle thread, thus facilitating the simplification of the next unscrewing. Do not use brute force, otherwise you may simply break part of the candle.

5. Reconnect the high-voltage caps, screw back the plugs and replace the cover from the motor protective housing.

A warning

It is not recommended to do:

- you cannot penetrate under the hood of a car if you have not the slightest experience behind your shoulders;

- no matter how funny and stupid it may sound, do not forget to turn off the ignition before opening the engine housing cover;

- you cannot insert candles from another car if the brand is not the same;

- no smoking when replacing candles;

- you cannot carry out such a manipulation if you do not have the slightest idea about the details and the principle of work.

If you want to understand the system and carry out the replacement yourself, perform all actions under the supervision of people who understand the filling and repair of cars.
