If you do not take measures for their processing and painting in time, this will inevitably lead the metal to corrosion. Step 1
To ensure that the chips on your car are painted over with high quality and do not look like spots, contact a car store that sells auto enamels. Choose a store that provides additional services for the selection of paint tones using computer technology. As over time, any car fade in the sun and the number of the enamel with which it was painted earlier becomes much lighter. If you use the same paint, you will get darker spots at the site of the chips that will look like patches, which will lead to the need to paint the entire body.
Step 2
Prepare all chipped areas for painting. Sand the chips themselves and the places around them with sanding paper number 1, then number 0. Use a sander for this. If cracks have gone from chips, then treat all places not only for chips, but also cracks. Otherwise, the new paint will not stick, and corrosion will begin under the cracks.
Step 3
Apply a coat of rust converter to all treated areas. Leave it on for 30 minutes, wipe the treated area thoroughly and apply the primer immediately. After 12 hours, apply another coat of primer and after 24 hours paint over the chips.
Step 4
Let the paint dry completely within 48 hours. Apply polish to the painted areas. If your car is lacquered, apply a coat of lacquer instead of polish.
Step 5
If the car surface has a lot of chips with deep cracks around it, do a full body paint, as painting and treating individual areas is much more difficult.
