Loss of car keys, especially the master key, which can reprogram the lock to a new one, is fraught with reprogramming of the entire ignition unit of the car for the owner of the car. The key renewal procedure is quite complicated, and you need to think several times before deciding to change the key yourself. How can you reprogram the ignition unit for new keys yourself?
Necessary
- - "Clean" set of keys. As a rule, these are 2 main keys and one master;
- - programmer;
- - software for flashing the immobilizer flash memory;
- - skills in working with reprogramming devices.
Instructions
Step 1
Disconnect the immobilizer from the electronic locking device (ECU). Do not forget that before doing this, the automatic locking system must be put into diagnostic mode in order to avoid an emergency locking of the ignition system. To do this, set a special jumper to the diagnostics position of the electronic interlocking device.
Step 2
Next, you need to clear the volatile memory of the ECU. The fact is that there is a connection between your remote control, immobilizer and ECU. For successful reprogramming, you need to reset the identifiers of these devices. To do this, simply disconnect the power cable from the computer.
Step 3
Reflash the immobilizer using the software suitable for your ignition system. At this stage, be very careful, follow exactly the instructions for flashing with the programmer.
Step 4
Install the immobilizer back, connect the ECU to the power supply. Basically, you get a clean system ready to be programmed with a master key. Carry out the procedure for programming the main keys.
Step 5
In order for the process of reprogramming the immobilizer to be successful, be sure to devote maximum time to studying the issue of the firmware. If you doubt that you can cope with the flashing yourself, it is better to contact the specialists.
