Reflective stickers can help improve the safety of personal vehicles. They are used for marking heavy vehicles, uniforms of workers, repairing roads, and specialists of other professions. All road signs, signs, billboards are equipped with reflective stickers.
Reflective stickers consist of a backing, an adhesive layer, a film with an image or lettering, reflective lenses, and a protective coating. In daylight, these stickers are no different from a regular sticker, but in the dark, when rays of light hit them, they transform: they begin to glow with bright colors. This effect is provided by a reflective layer with capsule-shaped spherical lenses.
Why are reflective stickers needed?
The most popular application for reflective stickers is road safety. They are designed to attract the attention of drivers in low light conditions. All road signs and signs are equipped with reflective stickers. Thanks to the lens' ability to collect and reflect light, these traffic organizers are clearly visible even in complete darkness.
Reflective stickers are widely used in outdoor advertising. In this case, their use is designed not only for drivers, but also for passers-by. When illuminated by headlights, the advertising text or image becomes visible from a distance. In order for the dimensions of heavy vehicles to be more noticeable, vehicle owners are required to apply reflective stickers on their vehicles in the form of contour markings. Reflective stickers are also glued to the uniforms of road workers, builders, and installers. Cyclists also need them.
How to use a reflective sticker?
It makes sense for a car enthusiast to secure his vehicle with reflective stickers. The content of the stickers can be different: have a warning meaning, comic warnings, inform about the peculiarities of driving or about the transportation of bulky cargo. Stickers can be used as decoration, for example by attaching them to a wheel rim. This will not only decorate the car and make it stand out from the traffic, but also increase traffic safety.
Attaching a reflective sticker is easy. All of them are made on a sticky base, so to fix the sticker, it is enough to remove the backing. Before gluing, you need to clean the surface from dirt and grease. For this purpose, you can use an aqueous solution of ammonia (in a ratio of 1:10), a remover, or any degreasing agent. Then the treated area must be wiped dry. If the sticker is applied to glass, it is desirable to make it “double”: glue two identical stickers on both sides of the glass so that they look like one whole.
