Most often, oil pumps operate efficiently with sufficiently small clearances in the pairs of pressure gears. Oil pumps, like all engines, tend to wear out. The consumption of oil pumped by the pump through the growing clearances becomes less and, accordingly, the engine oil pressure drops, which requires replacement of the oil pump.

Instructions

Step 1

An oil pump is designed to provide lubrication to the moving parts of the internal combustion engine. It also carries out the function of pumping oil from the engine crankcase to the oil tank. The oil pump is driven by a drive shaft from a camshaft or crankshaft.

By the nature of the control, oil pumps are adjustable and unregulated. By means of a pressure reducing valve in the lubrication system, fixed pressure pumps maintain a constant pressure. In variable speed pumps, the pressure is maintained by varying the pump performance.

Mainly, the repair of the lubrication system consists of removing the pump and pressure reducing valve faults. Remove the oil sump before eliminating pump defects. In this case, the engine of the machine does not need to be removed.

Step 2

It happens that the oil pump stops working altogether, the pump drive parts are destroyed. The problem is solved by replacing the entire oil pump as a whole. Removal and installation of the oil pump is as follows:

Place the car on a lift, braking it with the parking brake, and disconnect the mass terminal from the storage battery. Unscrew the drain plug and drain the oil from the engine crankcase into the prepared container.

Step 3

Remove the protective plates and the engine mudguard, having previously unscrewed the mounting screws. Loosen the nuts for the engine mountings. Install the engine support rail on the machine and hang it out.

Step 4

Unscrew the crankcase mounting bolts and remove the crankcase together with the gasket. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the oil pump.

Step 5

Install the oil pump in the reverse order to removal. In this case, replace the oil sump gasket with a new one. Fill the crankcase with engine oil after final assembly.
