In connection with the entry into force of the new law of September 23, 2010 on increasing the fine to 500 rubles for tinted glass of a car that violates GOST, it may be necessary to remove the tint film so as not to pay increased fines. The measurement of light transmission in accordance with GOST is subject to windshield and side front windows. In the service, the procedure for removing tinting can cost 1000 rubles, and if you do not want to pay that kind of money, you can tear off the tinting film yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
To remove the tint film, you need to heat the glass with the film no higher than forty degrees. To do this, you can use a household hairdryer or a heat gun. Accordingly, you need to find a place where you can connect to an electrical outlet. Overheating of the glass surface can result in the film melting, and therefore, for greater confidence, it is better to use a thermometer.
Step 2
After heating the surface, pry off the edge of the film with a sharp object, knife or razor blade. You need to start removing the film from the top edge.
Step 3
Begin to slowly pull on the edge of the film, peeling it off diagonally. Take your time to pull up the film. If you do everything slowly, the film will come off without breaks and leave a minimum of glue on the glass.
Step 4
After removing the film, traces of glue will still remain on the glass. Remove them with any glass cleaner. The services also often use dishwashing detergents. Apply one of the products to the glass and use a clean cloth or tissue to dry the glass.
