It is known that the vehicle tax is levied depending on the power of the car's engine and is one of the most controversial. Many owners of powerful foreign cars would like to have completely different numbers in the PTS, especially since they do not always correspond to reality. Is it possible to legally reduce engine power in PTS?
Instructions
Step 1
Currently, there are two ways to legally reduce the engine power in the PTS - changing the data due to an error made by the registering authorities, and replacing the engine.
Step 2
If you find that the registration authorities made a mistake in the TCP, and the engine power of your car is clearly overestimated according to the documents, contact the official representative of this brand in the Russian Federation. For vehicles manufactured after 1981, you can get a reference to update the data according to your vehicle identification number. However, it should be noted that there are cases when the dealerships issued certificates in which the data on the car also did not correspond to reality. If this happened, then it is already impossible to do anything in this direction.
Step 3
Having received the "correct" certificate, contact the MREO and ask, based on the clarifications, to make changes to the TCP. In case of refusal, ask for a referral for technical expertise. Go through it.
Step 4
With the conclusion of the technical expertise in hand, contact the MREO again, where they will make changes to the TCP. If something did not work out with the first, above-described option, try the second - replacing the "native" engine with a less powerful one.
Step 5
Get the right engine. At the store, you must obtain a sales contract and a manufacturer's certificate. Make a replacement in a specialized car service. After completing the work, do not forget to receive a work order and a service certificate.
Step 6
With all these documents in hand, contact the MREO with a request to make the appropriate changes to the TCP. Most likely, you will be given a referral for examination and for obtaining a certificate, for making changes in the design of the car. After passing the examination and receiving the relevant document, contact the MREO again. The TCP will be amended accordingly.
