In case of serious accidents or any breakdowns associated with the front of the car, the bumper is the first to suffer. It can be repaired, but in case of serious defects it is better to make a complete replacement and install a new bumper.
Instructions
Step 1
If you have installed fog lamps, which are located on the front bumper, disconnect the electrical connectors from these headlights and remove them. Then unscrew the nuts that secure the side and front brackets. On the VAZ-2114, two nuts are provided for the side brackets, and four for the front brackets. Remove the six bolts and set them aside to avoid losing them. Then detach the side brackets.
Step 2
Remove the screws that secure the license plate to the bumper. Then remove the beam with the front brackets. Carefully inspect the bracket, beam and other bumper fasteners for damage and defects, if found, replace these parts immediately. Install the new front bumper in the reverse order, being careful to ensure the proper tightening of the mounting bolts.
Step 3
To remove the rear bumper, you must first disconnect the wires that are designed to connect the license plate light. Remember that the bumper must be removed with the beam and brackets. Using a wrench, unscrew the bumper to the body - these screws are located on the sides. Then unscrew the rest of the bolts and carefully pull the bumper towards you and remove it.
Step 4
Disconnect the license plate and remove the beam after unscrewing the bolts of its fastening to the bumper. Look for the hardware and bumper parts that need to be replaced if there are any signs of malfunction or defects. When reassembling and installing, remember to connect the wires that are required for the license plate light. After the final installation, check that the bumper is securely fastened by grasping one of the edges with your hand and pulling lightly, the bumper should hold securely.
