Step 1
Not finding your "iron horse" in the parking lot, immediately call the police. Step 2
Having called the person on duty, go to the nearest police station and write a statement about the loss of the car. Behave intelligently but persistently.
Step 3
At the police station, take a control card and find out who exactly will be looking for your car. Do not forget to also take a certificate confirming that you have contacted the police about the car theft. You will need it to contact an insurance company and pay out insurance under the CASCO system.
Step 4
Take also a copy of the criminal case file from the police. Take this copy along with the insurance policy, police certificate, car registration documents and the keys to it to the insurance company and write there a statement about the occurrence of the insured event. The insurance company, of course, will not be able to find and return the car to you, but it will pay out the required insurance. Its size will be equal to the market value of the car at the time of theft, taking into account wear and tear. Usually, insurance companies pay only after the suspension of the criminal case.
Step 5
If the police find the car and the car thief, go to court to recover compensation from the offender for the damage and moral harm. Do not forget to include your medical documents and receipts with your court application.
Step 6
To find a car, contact the media (radio stations, newspapers), describing in detail the signs of your vehicle. Ask your friends to inspect the surrounding courtyards, ask the traffic police about recent accidents, go around all car markets and penalty areas. If you manage to find a similar car on one of them, contact the police. Do not sort things out with the seller on your own, this can turn into negative consequences.
