Instructions
Step 1
Write in the prescribed form a statement addressed to the head of the traffic police. Be sure to write your contact information: address, full name, phone number. Indicate the make of the car for which you want to keep the old registration number, and the make of the car for which this number was registered. Then sign and date.
Step 2
Fill out the application in advance so that you do not have to stand in long lines. If you want to remove an old car from the register, then you must attach an application for storing its numbers for a new car to the set of other documents.
Step 3
Inform the traffic police officer during the registration of a new car that you have old numbers. Please note that your old numbers will be stored in the inspection for no more than 30 days from the date of their withdrawal. If during this period they are not claimed by you, then they will be destroyed in the near future, and the state duty paid by you will not be returned.
Step 4
Put the old numbers in order. Their cover must be intact and free from any damage. Letters and numbers on them must be readable and clearly visible. If your number is dented, scratched, in some places there are chipped pieces, then you will need to contact the traffic police department and write a statement there with a request to restore these license plates. You will be given a document with the help of which new numbers with the same letters and numbers will be made to you at a specialized plant. Check that the new license plates received on your hands are up to date.
Step 5
Submit the necessary documents for removing the vehicle from the register at the traffic police department. To do this, you will need your civil passport, car passport, a statement with the inspector's marks on the inspection of the car, a car registration certificate, the original and a copy of the receipt of payment of state duty and state license plates.
