According to the law, it is necessary to transport a child in a car seat from birth until he reaches a body weight of 36 kg. Usually this weight corresponds to the age of 11-12 years. There is a special category of car seats for each age group.
Step 2
Category 0 and 0+ is designed to transport children from birth to one year. These car seats are more like a stroller cot equipped with additional seat belts. The seat of group 0 is installed perpendicular to the direction of movement of the car, and in the seat of group 0+ the child is placed with his back in the direction of travel. This is due to the need to reduce the load on the not fully formed cervical spine of the baby.
Step 3
The category 1 seat allows you to transport children from one year old, who can sit confidently, hold their back and neck. Starting from the first category, the seats are installed facing in the direction of travel. A category 1 car seat is designed for a weight up to 15-18 kg.
Step 4
When a child reaches the age of three, he will need a group 2-3 car seat. Instead of five-point belts, such devices use a regular regular seat belt. A child will be able to ride in such a chair from 3 to 12 years old. Adult children can also use a booster seat that does not have a backrest in the car. Boosters are designed for children over 130 cm in height.
