Step 1
If you need to overcome a space covered with deep mud, first assess your chances. Unless the vehicle is an SUV, the chances are slim. If there is a frame SUV with all-wheel drive, a range-to-multiplier and limited slip differentials, this fundamentally changes the matter. Engage all-wheel drive, downshift and all existing locks in advance. To be able to get out when you get stuck, try to work your way through the mud next to large objects (pillars, trees). Step 2
The easiest way to deal with an unexpectedly stuck wheel is to increase the engine speed while lightly pressing the brake pedal. This will simulate a differential lock if no mechanical lock is installed. Unfortunately, this method only helps when overcoming shallow mud.
Step 3
As soon as it becomes clear that the car began to slip without moving forward, immediately engage the reverse speed and roll back along the paved track. Do not accelerate while doing this. If this does not work, release the tire pressure to 0.5-1.0 atm. This can be done in advance, before overcoming the mud section. Once on a decent road, restore the correct tire pressure with a compressor.

If the car is seriously stuck and all of the above methods do not help, follow certain rules. First, do not accelerate to avoid digging deeper. Secondly, if possible, dig out the rear wheels, axle, bottom. Then, without slipping, try to pull back in tension. Third, check the condition of the road along the way. If there is the same mud, it is better to look for another road.
Step 5
The next step in getting the car out of the mud is to put rubber mats, rags, pieces of plywood, planks, branches, logs and anything else under the wheels that will help reduce the pressure on the ground. Here you will need an ax, a saw and a jack to lift the wheel of the car. When the car is firmly standing on objects placed under the wheels, begin to make smooth rocking movements of the car, trying to get out of the mud.
Step 6
When driving backward on the paved track, the car will try to turn to the side. Again, do not accelerate. Smoothly try to catch the edge of the tires on the edges of the track to continue driving. Please note that with repeated movement along the track, its depth will increase and a situation may arise that there will not be enough clearance for further movement.
Step 7
Tow. If none of the methods helped, you will have to look for a towing vehicle. Or do it from the very beginning, if there is no desire to independently fight for the rescue of the car. If there is a long cable and the ability for a towing vehicle to pull out a stuck car while standing on a solid road, any vehicle with sufficient power will do as a tug.
