Soon, it is planned to make changes to the procedure for passing the driver's license exam. It was decided to complicate the tests for future drivers, since the current system was recognized as outdated and too loyal.
The theoretical part of the exam is undergoing the following changes: according to the new bill, each error in the answer entails five additional questions. The exam will be considered failed if the subject does not answer 3 main questions or 1 additional question. This is a compulsory measure, according to the traffic police, according to them, 90% of modern drivers know the rules of the road very poorly, as a result of which they neglect them. The result is a huge number of accidents on Russian roads.
The practical part of the exam also does not remain unchanged, and here they are much more serious than in the theoretical block. Instead of the current compulsory three tasks that make up the exam tests, future drivers will be asked to take five practice tests. An applicant of any of the categories (B, C, D) will need to show the following skills: the ability to stop and start moving on the rise; turn around in a confined space, moving in reverse; the ability to park in parallel; make turns at right angles. For future motorcyclists (category "A"), 9 tasks of the practical part will be compulsory.
The new project does not provide for the possibility of retaking exams if they fail. Perhaps this point will not be approved by the Ministry of Justice, it is too harsh in relation to novice drivers. Although, on the other hand, there is hope that such harsh measures will contribute to a more serious attitude towards the cause of those who decided to get behind the wheel.
The practice exam is supposed to be held on highways with different traffic intensities. It should also be added that in 2010 attempts by the traffic police to change the rules for taking exams, making them independent of the human factor, did not lead to anything, the project was not approved by the Ministry of Justice and the General Prosecutor's Office.
