A new law recently adopted in Russia has toughened penalties for traffic violations. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, the law has already entered into force, but most of the amendments are expected to take effect next year.
The most unpleasant news for motorists will be the paid evacuation of the car. If earlier this service was free, now its cost will be about five thousand rubles.
The price for storing evacuated vehicles has not yet been determined. There is evidence that the fee will not be hourly, but daily. The first day of car storage will not be free either. There is information that the first fifteen minutes of the parking lot will not have to be paid.
At the same time, it is planned to increase the fleet of evacuators in Moscow from two hundred to a thousand units. The transportation of transport will be handled by private companies, along with the city service. The list of private representatives of the authorities is planned to be approved by the end of August. Representatives of Moscow evacuation firms said they were ready to charge from three and a half to four thousand rubles for services. However, if the number of orders from the authorities increases, the price of the evacuation will gradually decrease.
The cost of storage and evacuation in other regions will be set by the local authority.
The changes, which came into force on July 1, two thousand and twelve, expanded the list of grounds for evacuating a car, and also toughened fines for traffic violations. So, driving at a red light or prohibiting a traffic controller's gesture is subject to a fine of one thousand rubles, failure to comply with the stop line is eight hundred rubles, a fine for violating parking rules is one thousand rubles, and in Moscow and St. Petersburg up to two and a half thousand, parking at a public transport stop will cost one thousand and three thousand in the "capitals".
According to the authorities, tougher penalties for violation of parking rules will help relieve the streets of cities. Another innovation is also planned - a website on which information will be located, to which parking lot the tow truck took your car. The Internet portal will contain information about all the parking lots and the cars that are on them.
