Necessary

Socket wrench 17 mm, 13 mm, 12 mm, 10 mm, 8 mm, screwdrivers 2 pcs, rubber belts 2 pcs, universal puller

Instructions

Step 1

Let's say that the generator has already been removed and is located on a locksmith's workbench. The first step is to remove the alternator pulley, which is the most difficult task. In this case, you will need a special device for fixing the pulley from turning, which does not make sense to acquire for a one-time disassembly. To cope with a similar task: put the factory alternator belt into the pulley, and put another, wider, suitable belt on top of it. And all this carefully, without damaging the pulley, clamp it in a vice, after which it is necessary to unscrew the nut securing the pulley to the generator, and then, using a puller, carefully dismantle the pulley from the generator, and remove the metal key from the shaft.

Step 2

Next, you need to do the following. Remove the capacitor with a 10 mm wrench and a screwdriver. Next, the screws for fastening the brush holder combined with the relay-regulator, which is also dismantled from the generator, are unscrewed. Then the four bolts tightening the generator stator are unscrewed and removed. Now, using a puller, the front half of the generator housing is removed, and the rotor of the generating device is removed. After that, the three contact nuts securing the stator winding to the rectifier unit are unscrewed. After removing the bolts, the stator and rectifier unit are separated from each other. By unscrewing the nut on terminal "30" and disconnecting the connector with a screwdriver, it becomes possible to remove the diode bridge of the generator.

Step 3

To remove the front bearing, the screws of the cover of its fastening in the generator housing are unscrewed, and subsequently, using a puller, it is removed from the generator housing for subsequent replacement with a new part.
