Car tire pressure is one of the most important technical characteristics. After all, one that corresponds to the norm allows you to keep the tire intact for longer and increases the capabilities of the car. Therefore, it is very important to keep the tires in good condition.
Despite the great importance of such an indicator as tire pressure, very few vehicle owners think about checking this parameter. So, for example, according to statistics, about 10% of drivers drive with very low tire pressure - this figure is reduced by more than 0.6 bar. It is very important to regularly measure the tire pressure as tires lose air on a daily basis.
It should be remembered that rubber can be divided into tires of different types and pressures. So, for example, there are ultra-low pressure, medium, high or regulated tires. There is also a special low pressure tires. It should not be confused with a regular tire that has lost a lot of air.
The standard of pressure in the tires of your car must be spelled out in the brochure for operation (if the car is new) or you can find it on the Internet (if the car is older than 10 years and all service and other books have long been lost). In addition, you can see the recommended numbers on the gas cap, glove compartment or car door pillar. As a rule, in these places there can be a sticker on which all the necessary information is printed.
Normal pressure is that determined by the manufacturer for a particular make and model of the vehicle. There is no average, to understand the norm for your car, consult the manufacturer's recommendations. Then take a special device for measuring tire pressure. It can be manual, automatic, semi-automatic. It doesn't matter which one you choose, the main thing is that he can adequately carry out the measurements you need.
Take into account the fact that it is almost impossible to determine a decrease in tire pressure by 0.2 bar by eye. However, this shortage leads to a 15% reduction in tire life. If your indicator of reduced pressure is more than 0.6 bar, you risk losing rubber twice as fast as you could.
In addition, too low a pressure reduces the adhesion of the wheel to the road surface, increases the braking distance.
It is not so difficult to measure the pressure. This should be done every 30 days. You only need to measure the tire pressure when the tire is cold. That is, if you have just arrived at a car service for measurement, you will have to wait some time - about 2 hours - until the tire leaves the road. After all, when driving, it not only heats up, but also builds up pressure by about 20%.
The pressure gauge itself is screwed to a special hole through which the tire is usually inflated. He himself will take air from the tire and take the measurement.
