A driver's license is one of the most important documents in the modern world. It is illegal to drive without a license, so if you have lost your driver's license in one way or another, take action immediately.

Step 1
In fact, there are only two ways to lose your driver's license. Either you lose them (or they are stolen), or the traffic police officers take away your rights for a committed violation. In any case, in order to restore the documents, you will have to interact with government agencies.

The law gives 30 days to restore a lost driver's license. In reality, the procedure may take longer. One way or another, if you cannot find your certificate, you should contact the examination department of the traffic police at your place of residence. You need to have a medical certificate, identity card, a receipt from the bank confirming the payment of the duty, as well as a document from a driving school or a driver card. You will need to write a statement about the loss, after which you will receive a temporary certificate giving the right to drive a car for a period of 1-2 months. If you are sure that your driver's license has been stolen, you will have to additionally provide a certificate of initiation of a criminal case, which will take additional time to obtain.
Step 3
If the traffic police inspector confiscated your license for what he believes to be an offense, then, as a rule, he will write you a temporary document that allows you to drive a car until the date of the court hearing in your case. Please note that only a court can deprive you of your rights, and an inspector can only withdraw your rights. If in court you cannot prove your case, then you will be deprived of the right to drive a car for some time. In this case, temporary rights will have to be surrendered. You can appeal the decision of the judge in the higher court (since the cases of deprivation of rights are considered by justices of the peace, the district court will be considered the higher court), however, if you do not have convincing evidence of your innocence, the likelihood of a revision of the sentence is not great. At the end of the period of deprivation, you will need to check with the traffic police where to pick up your license.
