Step 1
To connect the on-board computer to the vehicle diagnostics and control system, there is a special connector - a diagnostic block. The on-board computer is equipped with a special connector that must fit the car. If not suitable, then there are adapters. If there is no adapter, then according to the instructions, you need to determine two power contacts, and one is a diagnostic line. Throw these three wires directly.

After connecting, you need to configure the on-board computer. The main readings are read from the vehicle's electronic control unit with the ignition on and the engine running. Typically, there are two modes of operation of a computer. These are user mode and setting mode. In the settings mode and you need to set the required display parameters.

First, you need to determine the type of electronic control unit and select it as the main one from the list, or give the computer the ability to automatically select. Then indicate the mode of determining the amount of fuel in the tank and its consumption. There is a linear determination due to the settings of the control unit and manual, in which you yourself create a flow table and enter the data, and the on-board computer will determine the flow using this table and show it on the display.

Further, in the user mode, select those parameters that you need to show on the display. It depends on the functionality of the device. Be sure to set the engine cooling fan switch-on temperature, because the switch-on temperature is different for different vehicles. Set the time and brightness of the display backlight.

These are the main adjustable parameters of the on-board computer, and the rest is read from the electronic control unit, and they should only be changed in the diagnostic center.
