Since the car is the place where the driver spends enough time, the interior should be as comfortable and convenient as possible. To do this, you need to equip it with additional accessories. Rugs are the first such acquisition. How to choose them?
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase floor mats for both the passenger compartment and the trunk. This will maximize the protection of the interior from dust and dirt. Plus, carpets are much easier to clean than an entire car. Please note that they can be both universal and specially made for a specific car model.
Step 2
If you don't want to spend a lot of money and time looking for rugs, buy universal rugs. But they will not last long; they will often have to be replaced with new ones. In this case, the rugs will not fit perfectly on the floor of the passenger compartment, even if they are cut along the contour of the "trough". But there is one big plus - a universal rug can be bought at any supermarket.
Step 3
Purchase floor mats specifically made for your car brand. Choose the material from which the rugs are made. The most practical is rubber. Rubber mats reliably protect the bottom of the car from the penetration of a large amount of moisture, thereby preventing decay of the soundproofing layer and metal corrosion. However, original pile rugs have a much better ability to absorb excess moisture, as they are equipped with rubber spikes on their basis.
Step 4
But keep in mind that despite the convenience and low price of rubber mats, they have a number of negative qualities. They bend very poorly (inelastic), freeze break, are heavy and retain unpleasant odors.
Step 5
Try polyurethane rugs. They easily repeat the complex configuration of the floor, have high sides, weigh half as much as rubber, and do not harden in the cold. Although polyurethane rugs are expensive, they do not wear out for a long time and do not dry out from exposure to high temperatures.
Step 6
Pay attention to the "mechanism" that prevents the rug from moving across the floor. These can be various Velcro, hooks or other devices that are securely attached to the rigid base of the rug.
