Installing a forward-flow muffler instead of a standard muffler on a car is another kind of redesign of the car, not only on the outside, but also changing the voice of the engine. But if you want to install co-current on your Chevrolet Lanos on your own, then you need to stock up on some tools that will come in handy for turning a standard muffler into a straight-through one. The set of tools will include: a grinder, various screwdrivers, an electric drill, a set of drills, a piece of stainless steel pipe, a hammer, glass wool, heat-resistant sealant, welding (whatever is nearby).
To get a new muffler, first remove it from the car. For the convenience of dismantling, the car must be placed on an overpass or on a viewing pit. Using screwdrivers, a hammer and wrenches, dismantle the muffler and put it on a flat surface.
Using a grinder, cut off the muffler cover evenly and accurately. We take out everything that is inside, together with the partition, from it. We install a pipe with holes in the container of the muffler, wrap it with asbestos, and put fiberglass into the container itself from the inside around the perimeter. We install the finished muffler on the Chevrolet Lanos car. We lubricate the joints with a sealant and pre-install the clamps to securely connect the pipes of the muffler. After the muffler is suspended from the bottom of the car, only then tighten the fasteners of the clamps. The installed forward flow is checked for tightness.
