Ball joints are important parts of a car's suspension. They provide a pivot connection of the front suspension arms with a steering knuckle and transfer various types of loads from the wheels to the vehicle body when driving with simultaneous steering and vertical wheel travel. Most often, ball "fly out" on bumps. Therefore, you must carefully monitor their condition and, if necessary, change.

Necessary

Jack, wrench "22", hammer (or special puller)

Instructions

Step 1

First, you need to remove the load from the vehicle suspension. To do this, jack up the car and remove the wheel from the hub. Then place any strong stand under the lower arm and lower the car so that the arm rests securely on the stand.

Step 2

Further, using a 22 wrench, it is necessary to unscrew the nut securing the ball joint.

Step 3

Then, with sharp blows of a hammer on the protrusion of the steering knuckle (at the location of the ball joint), it is necessary to achieve the exit of the ball from its seat.

Step 4

After that, using a "13" wrench, you need to unscrew the three nuts on the bolts securing the ball joint to the lever. Then the ball joint can be removed. But at the same time, the main thing is not to forget to remove the plate, and when assembling - to put it in place.

Step 5

The installation of a new ball joint is carried out in the reverse order.
