It is necessary to remove the starter yourself in such a way as not to damage either your health or the technical condition of the car. Ideally, in order to remove the starter, it is better to use the help of an assistant, and in the process use a lift. But as a last resort, you can do it yourself, even if there is no way to use a lift or a pit. This operation will take no more than an hour to complete.

How to remove the starter
  1. Disconnect the battery first, then remove the engine protection.
  2. Locate the top starter bolt under the hood. It is usually located on the right side of the injector, and in appearance somewhat resembles a large stud with a nut. This bolt must be unscrewed. Many aspiring car enthusiasts, who believe that the stud and nut are two different parts, start to panic when they see that both the stud and nut are unscrewed at the same time. Don't worry - it's a solid piece.
  3. Now you need to move under the car (which is why it is good when you have a pit or a lift at your disposal). You will need to first unscrew the nut that secures the main positive wire to the retractor relay, and then the nut that secures the control wire of the retractor relay. It will also be necessary to remove the nut that secures the negative wires to the starter (it is put on the lower starter mounting bolt), and then completely unscrew the lower starter mounting bolt.
  4. From above, under the hood, it is necessary to unscrew the upper starter mounting bolt. You can now remove the starter by pulling it out from the side of the air filter (do not try to remove the starter from the side of the battery - the wiring will interfere with you).
  5. When removing the starter, do not forget to follow the basic safety rule - perform all manipulations only after making sure that the car's engine has completely cooled down. Otherwise, you can get an unpleasant burn.
