Hyundai Accent is a car that is known to almost all car owners. And even though the design of "Accent" is already outdated, but in terms of its technical characteristics, this iron horse is quite good. But there is also a significant disadvantage - the clearance of the Hyundai Accent. Let's talk about ground clearance.
So, your dream (or just a car that has enough money) is a Hyundai Accent, but you are not satisfied with the ground clearance, and you are afraid that you will cling to everything in winter - work on the clearance. The owners of this car brand increase the ground clearance in various ways, but the most inexpensive and affordable option for many is the installation of rubber inserts from the VAZ.
Some are installing new stands. But still, a more budgetary option is the rubber inserts of the struts from the VAZ. To do this tuning, you will need:
- Buy 2 rubber spacers to increase the clearance with a thickness of at least 2 cm. Spacers from Lada are suitable for "Accent", you can buy them at any car shop, and the price is ridiculous, about 200-300 rubles. Also get new elongated hairpins, as the old ones will no longer work.
- Stock up on tools. You will need a wrench, a 12mm drill bit, a file and a wooden mallet.
- When the tools and parts are ready, you can start working. The first step is to dismantle the racks on your car. Carefully, so as not to damage the structure, knock out the old pins, wielding a mallet for this.
- Now look at the purchased spacers, if the holes on them are smaller than on the rack, then enlarge them with a drill, and then work a little with a file, give the holes a shape corresponding to the racks.
- Put on new pins, place the spacers on top.
- Secure the structure well with nuts and replace the stands.
After all the manipulations done, your iron horse will become noticeably higher. If you do not operate the car on a terrible off-road, then the clearance will hardly worry you.
