new oil, oil filter wrench, wrench, oil filter (new), oil drain container
Instructions
Step 1
To find out what kind of oil to buy, carefully read the car operating instructions. It contains the manufacturer's recommendations for the choice of oil and the exact recommendation of the oil change intervals.
Step 2
If you are inexperienced, contact a qualified auto mechanic. If you decide to change the oil yourself, take your time. This is especially true for those car owners who do this work for the first time.
Step 3
Be sure to put the car on the handbrake. Secure the rear wheels of the machine with bricks or blocks. The front part must be raised half a meter so that you can work lying down.
Step 4
It is very good if you have a garage with a viewing hole. In this case, preparing the car for an oil change will require a minimum of effort. Take a wrench and other tools, prepare a pallet. Go down into the viewing hole or sit under the car in a supine position.
Step 5
Take a wrench and unscrew the cap in the oil reservoir. Substitute the prepared container and let the old oil drain. Remove the oil filter by unscrewing it with a special wrench. When screwing the plug into the crankcase, proceed carefully. To prevent oil from leaking, the plug must be screwed on tightly.
Step 6
In order to drink through the filter element, fill the new filter with fresh oil. Then install a new oil filter. Lubricate the rubber seal near the thread with oil, and then screw in a new filter.
Step 7
In order to fill the car with oil, you need to open the hood and unscrew the cover on the engine. Then fill in new oil, about 5 liters, and tighten the cap tightly.
Step 8
After starting the engine, inspect the underside of the machine. There should be no oil leaks. If you see traces of oil leakage, check if the oil filter and plug are tightened securely. If oil continues to flow out, contact a workshop.
Step 9
When you are sure there are no oil leaks, turn off the engine. Be sure to check the oil level. Top up to the correct amount, if necessary. You need to change the oil every 5 thousand kilometers. Then the engine will run normally.
Step 10
If the recommended oil type is not listed in the vehicle's manual, examine the dipstick. Sometimes the type of oil is written on it.
Step 11
Buy oil from reputable manufacturers. Shop at specialty stores that ensure that the range of oils is of exceptional quality.
