Step 1
Prepare the disc surface for painting. The final result of painting will depend on how well and carefully you do it. Rinse the disc thoroughly by placing it in the bathroom and adding a suitable detergent. Scrub the inside and outside of the disc with a brush.
Step 2
Thoroughly clean the places where the rubber was against the rim of the disc. Then attach the plastic-bristled round brush attachment to the drill and brush it over the entire surface.
Step 3
Remove dents and chips from the rim. Use an automotive finishing putty for this purpose. Go over the damaged areas with 60 - 100 sandpaper. Use a large file to align the disc in the places where the rubber fits on the inside. However, work with it with extreme caution so as not to remove excess.
Step 4
Degrease the surface. Treat it with solvent or cleaner. Then move on to the priming process. Shake the can of primer and coat the inside of the disc with it first. Spray the solution at a distance of 30 cm from the disc, directing the jet away from you. Pay attention to the uniformity of the applied layer.
Step 5
After applying the first layer, let it dry and then apply 1 - 2 more coats. Also prime the outside of the disc. To make the primer dry faster, you can resort to using some kind of blowing system.
Step 6
When painting the disc, ensure that the room is well ventilated. Wear gloves and sealed safety goggles before work. After shaking the can of paint, place it at a distance of 30 cm from the inner surface of the disc.
Step 7
Spray the paint, trying to create as even a layer as possible. After it dries, apply another 1 - 2 coats of paint. Then start painting the outer surface, applying 2 - 3 coats of paint in the same way.
Step 8
After the painted surface has dried, fix the applied paint with varnish, applying it in two layers. Let dry.
