The oil filter traps contaminants in the engine oil, thereby preventing them from entering the engine. Thanks to this device, the engine's service life is increased several times.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare in advance the tools you will need when replacing the filter. Then you should place the machine on the supports and wait until the engine has cooled down so that you do not burn yourself with hot oil.
Step 2
Find the oil filter plug under the bottom of the car and use a hammer to drive a simple screwdriver straight through the filter housing. Place an unnecessary container under the hole and remove the plug. Let all the oil flow out of it. Then unscrew the filter and thoroughly clean the base to which it is attached.
Step 3
Apply a light coat of fresh oil to the rubber gasket of the oil filter to be installed. Make sure the gasket sits securely in the base of the new filter. Then screw the new oil filter into the base of the surface where it is attached until you feel it touch the gasket. Then make three more full turns to secure it completely.
Step 4
Remove the used oil container and all tools from under the machine. Lift the machine off the ground and add the correct amount of engine oil to the tank. Start the car's engine and let it run for a few minutes, while you look to see if there are any leaks in any places.
Step 5
Then turn off the engine and wait for a while until its temperature is normal for your hands. Open the hood, take the dipstick in the oil tank and look at the oil level. If you notice that the oil level is below the minimum value, you need to top it up to the required level.
Step 6
Try to check the oil level from time to time after replacing the oil filter. Remember that used oil should never be thrown down the drain. It must be sealed and handed over to a specialized collection point.
