Instructions

Step 1

First you need to decide where the car will winter. And there are not many options: garage, indoor parking or outdoor parking. Outdoor parking is the most budget option. You can agree to put your car in the very corner of the parking lot and reduce the price at the same time. Cover the car with a special cover that will protect the car from ice and scratches.

Step 2

An underground or just covered parking, but not heated, will protect the car from the effects of snow and rain. In such a parking lot, the car may not be additionally covered so that condensation does not form under the cover due to temperature changes.

Step 3

The ideal storage option is a garage. Even if it is not heated, it is possible to install a heater with on / off programming. But such a measure is necessary only in case of very severe frosts. Make sure that the roof of the garage does not leak; to preserve heat, the walls can be insulated with special fire-resistant and moisture-resistant materials.

Step 4

Before putting the car in any of the winter parking lots, coat the body with a special wax to preserve the paintwork and protect it from rust. The texture of winter wax is more oily and is applied in several layers, while not all is removed from the surface. If the car already has paint defects, then it is better to paint them over so that no further destruction occurs. Dissolve the rust with a special agent.

Step 5

Remove all items from the trunk and interior of the car. Disconnect and remove the radio tape recorder (except for the standard one), amplifier and subwoofer, if installed. If there is a leather interior in the car, it is better to remove the seat covers so that the leather does not deform from low temperatures.

Step 6

If you do not plan to come every 3-5 days and start the car, disconnect the battery. If you have an alarm installed, it takes power from it and, thereby, gradually puts it down. There is no need for an alarm in the guarded parking lot. You can only leave the mechanical protection - the lock of the checkpoint, steering wheel and hood.
