The adjustment of the contactless ignition system on UAZ vehicles must be carried out with high accuracy. Mistakes when installing the ignition lead to an increase in fuel consumption and a decrease in engine power.
Instructions
Step 1
Park the car on a level, horizontal surface and brake with the parking brake. Set the piston of the first cylinder in the position of the top dead center. In this case, the holes M3 (5 degrees to TDC) on the crankshaft pulley and the pin on the cover of the distribution gears should be aligned.
Step 2
Remove the plastic cover from the distributor sensor housing. Make sure that the slider electrode is exactly opposite the lead on the cover. This pin is marked with number 1 and is intended for the wire of the spark plug of the first cylinder.
Step 3
Using a bolt with a pointer inserted into it, tighten the octane corrector plate of the distributor sensor to the drive housing. In this case, the pointer should coincide with the central division of the octane-corrector scale.
Step 4
Loosen the bolt securing the octane corrector plate to the distributor sensor. While holding the slider to close the drive gap, gently rotate the housing until the red mark on the rotor and the tip of the petal on the stator are aligned. Tighten the bolt of the octane corrector plate on the distributor sensor.
Step 5
Replace the sensor-distributor cover. Check the correct installation of the ignition wires to the spark plugs in accordance with the order of the cylinders (1-2-4-3), counting counterclockwise.
Step 6
Warm up the engine to a temperature of 80 degrees. Accelerate in direct gear up to a speed of 40 km / h. Briskly press the accelerator pedal, giving the car maximum acceleration. A sign of a slight short-term detonation until the speed reaches 55-60 km / h will indicate the correct setting of the ignition timing.
Step 7
If during a test drive a strong detonation occurs, turn the distributor sensor body on the octane-corrector scale by 1 division counterclockwise. If there is no knock at all, turn the sensor 1 division clockwise.
