Clean frosty air, adrenaline from fast driving, the ability to reach nature, untouched by man and far from civilization - all this can give you a snowmobile. If you can't afford to buy a new snowmobile, try assembling it yourself.

- - various parts from the car "Zaporozhets", "Zhiguli", GAZ-66, scooter "Ant", motorcycle "IZH";
- - tools: welding machine, drill, screwdriver, etc.;
- - skillful hands.
Instructions
Step 1
Assemble the snowmobile body from plywood sheets (12 mm), make the frame from aluminum corners 15x15x2, 5 mm. For greater tightness, attach plywood sheets to the frame through a rubberized fabric.
Step 2
Weld the transmission frame with a variety of steel tubes, squares and angles. Make the front bumper from a corner, later the engine compartment will be bolted to it. Weld an adapter bent in the form of a steel sheet channel between the channel beam and the bumper. Place four engine pads on the beam. Weld brackets for the brake cylinder and for the steering wheel (you can take the steering wheel and brake cylinder from the Zaporozhets car).
Step 3
To position the tensioner for the secondary transmission chain on the transmission frame, fix a special platform with two holes. Make a 270x155 mm hole in the front wall of the cab so that the steering wheel bracket and part of the differential are in the cab. After complete installation, cover this hole with the cover.
Step 4
Take the engine for the snowmobile from the cargo moped "Ant", preferably together with the frame. Put the drive sprocket (z = 14) on the engine exhaust shaft, pull the primary chain (pitch 12, 7 mm) from it to the driven sprocket (from the Voskhod motorcycle, z = 42) on the intermediate gearbox.
Step 5
Place the two driving sprockets in the same place (z = 11) and connect them with secondary chains (step 15, 875) with the sprockets from the IZH motorcycle (z = 42).
Step 6
Cut off flanges from the old Zhiguli beam and make housings for bearings from them. From "Zhiguli" also take axle shafts with brake drums and wheel discs.
Step 7
Modify disks, consisting of rubber chambers from a tractor cart or a GAZ-66 car, for pneumatics. Make the front suspensions from horizontal stockings (make the stockings yourself from a pipe with a diameter of 50x3 mm) and reinforce them with struts.
Step 8
Equip your snowmobile with Zhiguli brakes, pedals and steering gear from Zaporozhets. Make your own fuel tank from galvanized steel sheet. Install the electrical equipment necessary for a homemade snowmobile: headlight, direction indicators, brake light and parking lights.
