Fans of winter fishing are often faced with a situation when it is impossible to drive up to the place of fishing by car. A rather heavy box and tackle have to be carried or carried on a Finnish sled, which is not always convenient. You will get rid of these problems if you make a simple snowmobile. Such a machine will also come in handy for those who like hunting or those who often have to commute to work off-road.

It is necessary

  • - boards;
  • - screws;
  • - epoxy resin;
  • - plastic sewer pipes;
  • - saw;
  • - jigsaw;
  • - drill;
  • - thermal tool;
  • - carpentry tools;
  • - locksmith tools;
  • - parts from a folding bike;
  • - aluminum sports hoop.

Instructions

Step 1

The easiest snowmobile to manufacture is a snowmobile. Start building by choosing an engine. For a single-seater snowmobile, a 10-15 hp gasoline engine is sufficient. It is better to purchase such a motor, for example, at an agricultural equipment store. As a rule, such an engine is already equipped with a gas tank, an ignition system and a starter. If you do not have the skills of precision carpentry, it is also better to purchase a screw ready-made. Now you can buy a ready-made propeller for aircraft models via the Internet. A two-three-bladed propeller with a diameter of 80-90 cm will do. When choosing, take into account the engine speed. Fasten the screw to the motor shaft or to the transmission pulley. It depends on the speed. If there is a need for a reducer, order it from a turner. It can be made from any unhardened steel.

Step 2

Mount the motor on a pylon, which is a wooden box about 50 cm high. The length and width of the motor platform are determined by the size of its mounts. It is better to make the box openable. Its capacity can be used to store extra gasoline, engine oil, etc. The pylon is installed on the body.

Step 3

The hull is a flat wooden box, the back of which is the base for the engine pylon and the front is the driver's seat. The choice of sizes depends on the size of the base of the pylon and how comfortable the seat should be, which is best made to fold down on the hinges. In this case, the capacity of the body can also be used for transporting goods. Make a backrest for the seat, upholstery it and the seat with leatherette and stuff with padding polyester.

Step 4

Make side skis. Warm up 2 pieces of sewer pipes, each about 1 m long, in a hot water trough. Flatten them at both ends and fold them up slightly. Let the pipes cool.

Step 5

Use plywood or 30mm planks to make ski racks. They are plates that are attached on both sides to the box of the case. Fasten with epoxy screws. The skis are attached to the racks with wooden bosses. To insert them, you need to make cutouts on the pipes. Fasten the entire structure with screws.

Step 6

Make the steering part of the snowmobile from the steering block of a folding bike. The centerframe and rudder attachment plate is secured to the front of the body box with four thick bolts and nuts. The nuts must be locked. A wooden block of suitable length is inserted into the steering fork, to which the steering ski is attached at the bottom.

Step 7

Make the steering ski differently than the support ski. Heat up a piece of plastic sewer pipe. While it remains hot, insert a piece of board (or better, glued plywood) 20 mm thick and 50 cm long into it so that twenty centimeters of free pipe remain. Flatten this loose end and bend it slightly upward. This will be the ridge of the ski.

Step 8

Attach the throttle stick and the engine mute button to the steering wheel. No other controls are required on the snowmobile. For convenience, leg supports can also be attached to the handlebar fork.

Step 9

Secure the screw guard between the engine console and the seat back. It is made from a cut gymnastic hoop and is attached in any convenient way. The diameter of the guard should be slightly larger than the diameter of the screw. The hoop should be painted in a bright color or several electric wires in bright insulation should be stretched along its chords.
