The reasons for installing a direct-flow exhaust system on a motorcycle are different: from increasing power to improving the look and sound of the bike's exhaust. But the direct flow setting method is approximately the same for most brands and models of motorcycles.

Instructions

Step 1

Remove the plastic covers from the motorcycle subframe and tail section. If the muffler on the motorcycle does not pass through the side but under the seat, remove the seat. Loosen the clamps of the standard muffler. As a rule, there are two of them: a collar near the center step and a collar (or bolt) on the passenger step.

Step 2

Remove the standard muffler with gentle up and down movements. On some motorcycle models, to remove the muffler, you will need to first remove the trim into it. Remove the rubber pad for the center step from the muffler.

Step 3

Using a suitable metal object, remove the sealing foil and gasket from the stock exhaust manifold fitting. Take the extension cord supplied with the straight-through exhaust pipe. Put this extension on the pipe of the standard exhaust manifold so that there is no gap left. Pull the connection point with a clamp and seat on the sealant.

Step 4

Try on the center stand: it should line up with the special tab on the adapter. After installing the extension cord, cover it with a high-temperature resistant sealing compound from the side of its connection with the forward flow. Typically, such a sealant comes with a straight-through exhaust. Apply the sealant in a thin, continuous layer over the entire circle.

Step 5

Carefully install the straight-through muffler onto the extension pipe, after putting the clamp on it. Remove any excess sealant with a soft cloth. Use a separate rubber band to secure the muffler to the passenger footrest, but do not completely tighten. Tension the springs tightening the straight-through muffler itself and its extension. Then carefully tighten all the clamps.

Step 6

The sealant dries within 4 hours, after which it becomes rubbery to the touch. After waiting a couple more hours after that, you can start the motorcycle. After installing the forward flow to the motorcycle, adjust the exhaust system.
