Car tires require periodic inflation in order to be in optimal shape. The condition of the tires is judged by the pressure inside them, which is determined using a pressure gauge.
Instructions
Step 1
Get a foot pump, which has a built-in pressure gauge, this will help you inflate the wheels to the desired level in any situation. Or buy an electric pump that connects to the "cigarette lighter" in the car. He should also have a device in the kit that will show the amount of pressure in the wheels.
Step 2
Remove the cap, it is always located on the tire valve. In place of the cap, put on the hose that extends from the pump or from the compressor. Do not rush to pump up immediately, first look at the readings of the pressure gauge. If the pressure is below normal, then pumping is needed. A value of 2 - 2, 2 atmospheres is considered the norm.
Step 3
Be careful not to exceed the bar, overpressure will make the wheels too hard, which reduces comfort and handling on the road. Sometimes this excess makes tires unusable - they just burst. If there is too much pressure, remove the hose and let the excess air escape by pressing the nipple. At the same time, check the pressure in all other wheels and, if necessary, pump them up.
Step 4
If you have a flat tire on the road, in a parking lot or in some other place, then after pumping the wheel, check for a puncture. To do this, lift the car on a jack and inspect it by scrolling in all directions. If you see a nail, a screw or any other sharp object stuck in the tread patterns, then repair cannot be avoided, and pumping will not help here. Well, if you have a spare tire, then everything is simple: jack up the car and replace it.
Step 5
If you don't have a spare wheel, then try to get to the nearest tire service. To do this, inflate the wheel and, without pulling out a foreign object, move at low speed. If this cannot be done and you do not have a spare wheel, then you will have to carry out repairs on site with a tubeless first aid kit.
