Today, many European countries do not mandate the use of a helmet when driving a motorcycle. Nevertheless, the percentage of people who wear it on their head is quite large. With the right choice and subsequent purchase, a helmet will help keep you safe on the road.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to a specialty store. The range of prices is likely to be large. Remember that the cheaper the helmet, the more dangerous it is to health and actually does not provide any protection. The lowest price is for a supported product or for a design of the lowest quality. The most expensive ones are made of lightweight and durable composite materials, have excellent ventilation and low weight.
Step 2
Be sure to try on the product you like. To do this, you first need to know what approximately the size of your head corresponds to. Measure it along the largest circumference that runs just above your brows in front. If you find it difficult to find the right helmet for you, ask a sales assistant to help you.
Step 3
Put on the helmet and remove it. If you can easily remove the operation with one hand, then it is great for you. Roll your head to the sides, shake it - if at the same time the helmet tends to slide off you, slides over your head, then it does not suit you. In both cases, go down one size. In case of a complex head shape, for example, with protruding ears, bumps, in the place of discomfort inside the helmet, rinse the gasket and make it more convenient for you.
Step 4
Do not buy a helmet that you do not like in color or you find it uncomfortable. It is better to look for another one, because they serve for quite a long time, and selling it after a short time because you simply do not like it is stupid and insulting.
Step 5
During use, watch the helmet, strictly following the manufacturer's recommendations. Remember that it is forbidden to wash it with oily formulations - this can lead to cracks and loss of protective properties. Use the most neutral soap to tidy up your helmet. In case of damage, replace or rebuild the structure.
